Although this book had a sad beginning, I love the message of hope that it goes on to provide Definitely worth the read received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. @Download ¹ Finding Her Voice Í Jennifer Has The Perfect Life A Loving Husband, A Beautiful Daughter, A Flexible Job In The Family Business When A Heart Stopping Accident Takes It All From Her, Jen Struggles To Survive Her Days Alone No One Else Understands, Expecting Her To Get Over Her Grief Ollie, Her Daughter S Rescued Dog, Is The Only One Who Shares Her Grief And Lives Her Pain When Divorce Ends In The Sale Of Their Home, She And Ollie Set Out On A Road Trip Of Healing And Discovery Life Will Never Be The Same, But Maybe Along The Way She Can Find The Music, Find Her Voice, Find Her Own Path To Living After Her Loss And If She Is Lucky, Find Love This is a clear shift to a Christian romance the first two books in the series had some spiritual elements but were not so clearly Christian Joy s deceased husband appears to her in dreams, calling her to the cabin they had designed but she had never seen With their daughter and his mother, she travels to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to learn what Steve wants her to know about his death, and to begin to wake up to life again. What does one do when everything begins to go wrong Finding Her Voice is a heart wrenching story about a young couple with a sweet young daughter, who soon learn what it really means to have to deal with tragedy from the first page When they learn of the death of their daughter, not only are two hearts broken, neither are able to find a way to heal and go on Not able to cope together the couple ends up in divorce, they also lose their home, and Jennifer, the mother, struggling miserably with her own grief, her faith, and her loss of peace, has to venture off on her own to find some answers. As a historical romance writer, I don t normally read contemporary fiction, but I found this story to be a fast paced page turner from the beginning to the end, sometimes difficult to read because of the sadness, but so well written I had to go on to find out what would happen next An easy to read, true to life book of friendship, faith, and hope.Only one disappointment for me was in not finding out what happened to one important character who couldn t bear the tragedy of losing the child Maybe I will see that in the next book.I recommend this book to readers who enjoy contemporary fiction with real life circumstances.Shirley Kiger Connolly,Award winning author of both historical romance and nonfiction books of reflection I received this book from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review.Jennifer watches as her beloved 5 year old daughter dies from a fall from a backyard swing She is immediately plunged into the world of painful grief Her marriage ends and she decides to go on a road trip with her daughter s faithful dog, Ollie, to visit an old friend Along the way, she connects with an online grief group composed of parents who have also lost children. My daughter died 24 years ago at the age of two I felt a need to read this book to see if there were any answers for me What I found was a wonderful mother searching for answers of her own There is no time line in the book, so I m not sure how long from the death to the end of the book was, but it seemed awfully fast to me I know that time heals I m proof of that But it does take a little longer than a few months.I was very interested in Jen s meeting with Beth, the preacher s wife who had also lost a child I found her comments intriguing I would have liked to see that relationship explored thoroughly. And also, the sermon at the end of the book That held some real significance for me I m not sure what but I need to reread it and explore it in my head. What I found in Finding Her Voice, was the outline of a book the skeleton It was well written and I was drawn into the story probably, because of my own circumstances What I wanted was meat, elaboration There were wonderful opportunities to add And was called for What I d really like is for Ms Endicott to add to the book and then read it again.I have entered a contest to win another of her books I will read it whether I win or not I do like her style Ms Endicott, thanks for the opportunity to win the book If not for that, I would have missed something important.
