Me DISAPPOINTEDMy rating is only for Blessed I ve read Cherished a long time ago, and I really enjoyed it Sadly, that can t be said of the new novella Blessed annoyed me so much I don t even get the point of it being publishedit was such a sap fest Everyone is happy happy, accomplished, marrying and breeding and earning money and living nice and being contentit was a hundred pages of all tell rather than show, with POV s jumping from one hero to another, and with a tiny contrived drama in Jim Griffin s relationship Yawn.. Only read Evan and Matt s moments love them , the other couple is just irrelevant to me D I loved catching up with Matt and Evan and Jim and Griffin in these two shorts In Cherished we get caught up with the Cerelli family dynamics at an incredibly uncomfortable holiday dinner, while Blessed brought the two main couples back together and did a bit of set up for the next book, which I am incredibly excited for. I enjoyed the first half of this Cherish when I originally bought it I was unhappy to find that the only way to get Blessed was to buy the first half over again, but I was willing to pay twice, to see of one of my favorite couples Matt and Evan. The first half of the book is a sweet, slightly angsty update on how the guys and the whole family are doing, several years down the road from the previous novel I liked the low level conflicts, the imperfect kids, and the way that the relationship was still a work in progress I adore Matt, and he shone in this novella. The second half, Blessed was less successful The story tries to cover both Griffin and Jim, from book 2, plus Matt and Evan, and the result is a bit scattered There are some sweet moments, and some insight into issues the couples are facing that will come back to bite them in the future But the ending is a bit cliff hangery and unsettled, and not much gets resolved here It feels very much like the set up for the next book I was pleased that I didn t read it until I had the sequel novel on hand to follow up with. I read Cherish a while back I didn t realize the was another novella out And I really really wanna read Truth Tenderness So i need to catch up Blessed Knowing that there is Truth Tenderness for me to dive into right away, makes the way this story ended not so bad At least for me anyway Some were harsh on this little novella saying they didn t even know why the author even bothered Well maybe I wouldn t have like the ending so much if I read it a while back, I still would have loved catching up with everyone I had fun just kicking back and reading all the mushy gushy shenanigans everyone was getting up to, without fear that something bad was about to creep up Good Sweet Fun getting to catch up with everyone 3.5 stars Blessed offered me the opportunity to meet up once again with one of my all time favorite m m couples and it was so nice to see how life is going on for Matt and Evan They are an established couple for many years now, but due to the many kids and other couples around them, their life never gets boring While Cherish focused on the Carelli family and lets us be part of a terrible family diner, Blessed is free of any real drama between Evan, Matt and the kids The book is bringing Matt and Evan back together with Jim and Griffin, the couple from the second book in the series The book is covering quite a few important moments in the lives of both couples and it gave an interesting overview I however had the feeling that it moved a little too fast sometimes I would have loved to get a few details in some episodes Blessed is setting the stage for the last book in the series and while I m dreading to read it solely due to the fact that it is the last story featuring Matt and Evan, I m also very curious I guess I can t keep myself from reading it for long Special thanks to Martin for recommending the series to me Since Cherish was initially published as a standalone book as Book 4, I shall split the reviews into two parts Cherish I m a huge fan of Matt by now, so of course I was than delighted to pick up this book to read about Matt and Evan This novella length story is about the drama that graced their Thanksgiving dinner, stemming all from their eldest child, Miranda To be honest, Miranda s disdain for Mike has been something of a conundrum for me She initially turned to Mike for help when she was view spoiler temporarily thrown in jail, and she didn t even seem to dislike Mike at all hide spoiler I have to admit I stopped reading this almost a year ago, because I felt that Matt and Evan s story had reached true blissful domestic harmony and anything following that would probably be sap.Well, thanks to Jim and Griffin I wasn t totally wrong, lol I don t really care about them, but Matt and Evan once again proved that they re my favorite vanilla couple of all time.Their struggles, their family, their jobs, their sex, everything rings true and has my heart melt Cherished was actually a standalone book before it was rereleased as Cherished Blessed So the second part of the book Blessed was new for me It deals with the christening of Bennett and Daisy s baby daughter Matt, Evan, Jim, Griffin, Shane and Helena are invited and spend a few days at Daisy and Bennett s beach house which is a romantic setting for lots of sex and for Jim and Griffin to reach an important decision. The book once again emphasized what I love most about this series Manly cop characters wanting to settle down to raise kids It totally pushes my buttons Therefore, Matt and Evan get the full five stars even though they did drown in sap in some scenes. Keep waiting for something Why do I keep reading this series when I know I won t be happy with it Answer I keep waiting for something I m guessing it s police officer soon to be captain Evan Cerelli 38 who I have problems with I still feel like he doesn t deserve former cop turned security consultant and a househusband Matthew Matt Matty Haight 49 I just feel like Matt should haveI had already read Cherish, so I skipped it in this one And I also skimmed through Jim Shea and his boyfriend Griffin Drake, because I m not interested in their story Only Matt Overall, I just have one book in the series, then I m d o n e Which I m happy aboutEmpty house Weddings Grandkids, Matt said, his voice cracking a little something he tried to cover up with a laugh You think you re so cute, Mr Haight All that stuff is what we ll be going through togetherQuick basic facts Genre Adult Contemporary Romance M M Series Series, Book Four Five.Love triangle view spoiler No hide spoiler ^FREE DOWNLOAD ⇷ Cherish & Blessed (Faith, Love, & Devotion, #4) ↷ Nd EditionFaith, Love, Devotion Books Four Book FiveCherishedAfter Several Years Of Happy Coupledom, Matt And Evan Can Relax In The Knowledge That Their Little Family Has Survived The Worst Of It The Two Older Girls Are Away At College, The Twins Have Yet To Fully Hit Teen Angst, Matt Is Doing Well With His Part Time Security Consulting, And Evan Is About To Be Promoted To Captain It Seems Like Things Are Calm And BrightUntil They Aren TAs The Holidays Approach, Evan And Matt Get A Shock No Parent Is Ever Prepared For Feisty Miranda, Evan S Eldest, Has A New Boyfriend, Kent, And They Are Talking Marriage After Just Three Months Together In Fact, Miranda Wants To Bring Him To Thanksgiving Dinner Along With His Parents, Blake And CorneliaBlessedLives Are In Transition As Everyone Gathers At The Stunning Hamptons Beach Home Of Daisy And Bennett To Celebrate The Christening Of Their New Baby Griffin And Jim Secretly Growing Tired Of Their Rootless Lifestyle Are In A Rocky Spot In Their Relationship And As The Godfather, Griffin Finds Himself Yearning For Something He S Sure Jim Won T Be Interested InFatherhoodMatt And Evan Are Looking To Reconnect During The Long Weekend, As Their Respective Careers Pull Them In Separate Directions With Less Time Spent Together, Evan Grows Concerned About What Will Happen When The Last Two Kids Leave The Nest St Edition Of Cherish Published As An EBook By Loose Id LLC, November
