Recension I read the english translated version not realizing it was part of series It was a pretty good stand alone book. This installment finds both Thomas and Nora on solid footing as they adjust to the changes in their lives Thomas has a new daughter, and Nora is dating someone and trying to figure out how to do the whole blended family thing. And of course, there is a murder A teen has been found day, and Thomas must help solve the case Nora is only involved in the case in a slight way Don t worry she is still in the book.Sten seems to capture the confusion and pressure on the teens quite well The conflict that Nora feels over her relationship with Jonas is well done as well. The mystery was pretty good too The solution isn t easily guessed at but it doesn t come out of left field. When several teenagers go missing in a vacation town, with one eventually turning up dead, it s up to Detective Thomas and his fellow police officers to piece together what happened Viveca Sten crafts an interesting crime drama where the pieces don t fall into place until the very end It took me about ten chapters until I felt truly pulled in they re short chapters but once I was, I couldn t put it down The pacing was quick, switching from character to character and scene to scene, and I enjoyed the buildup to who was dead A lot of authors don t allow for that This way you actually get to know the other characters and build a level of connection to them so when it s revealed that their loved one is dead, there s weight and substance there I have one minor gripe and it may be a pet peeve than anything negative There are very few things, in real life and in books, that annoy me than people jumping to conclusions Watching the police and the victim s father do just that, I couldn t help but get a little detached from the story I ultimately got my satisfying ending though so I didn t let it bother me too much Overall an enjoyable summer read, and I have to give props to the translator as well I don t speak Swedish so I can t compare the English to the original, but everything felt cohesive and of the same voice throughout the story 3.5 4 stars 4 starsMidsummer s Eve is a wild night on Sandhamn Visitors come from all the other islands to party and gave a good time Mostly it s young people, kids really, that arrive on boats and act outrageously and get very drunk Wilma, Jonas Skold s fourteen year old daughter is determined to take part in the celebrations She wants to meet up with some friends and stealing two bottles of wine from the refrigerator, she begs her rather lenient father to stay out until 2 a.m She has a major crush on one of the boys.During the evening Wilma becomes very drunk and is separated from her friends She wanders helplessly drunk around the beach looking for her friends Meanwhile a couple of other girls in her group get lost as well One is found by the police, the other come to the police liaison building looking for her friend They are reunited Nora Linde takes them in Meanwhile Wilma has long missed her deadline for being home and Jonas and Nora are very worried A young boy s body in found on the beach He has been bludgeoned to death He is Victor Ekengreen, another one of the group Thomas Andreasson is called over to lead the murder investigation His partner, Margit follows later When the interviews begin, the police strongly suspect Tobbe, Victor s best friend Slowly the truth is almost dragged out of the teenagers When Wilma is finally found, Jonas waits almost three days to question her She reluctantly tells her story Jonas realizes that she may be a witness to what happened with Victor He calls Thomas to report it This book takes the reader on many paths the teenagers stories, teenage angst, competition, drug and alcohol abuse, lying to one s parents, and the high price of revenge This is a good book I have read all of Viveca Sten s novels, and I like this one right up there with the others Nora is a great character, as is Thomas Ms Sten s books are well written, plotted and translated The island of Sandhamn sounds beautiful I feel like I am on vacation every time I read one of Ms Sten s books I want to thank NetGalley and Crossing for forwarding to me a copy of this good book to read, enjoy and review. Jonas, a divorced father, has custody of his 14 year old daughter for the Midsummer holiday Apparently, all of the teens are partying, Daddy, she begs, and she gets him to agree to let her go out with a 1 AM curfew But 1 AM passes, and Wilma does not return Her phone is off, and her father is frantic There are quite a few wealthy and seemingly very spoiled teens out, drinking, and partying, but everything changes when one is found dead the next day Is it murder Are drugs involved Another great Nordic noir novel from Viveca Sten, excellently translated by Marlaine Delargy. Oh how I wish all of the books in this solid Scandinavian murder mystery series were already available in English..I could and would happily do nothing but binge my way through them, craving pastries and strong coffee all the while I also wish I could give this installment 3.5 stars, because Ms Sten kept me guessing in one way or the other until the end And then, of course, left me hanging regarding Our Nora s future Surely she would not be so dumb as to.um, no, wait, that d be a spoiler. `DOWNLOAD E-PUB ↠ I stundens hetta ↠ Viides Sandhamn Dekkari Paljastaa Kes N Toiset KasvotMik On Ihanampaa Kuin Juhannusjuhla Saaristossa Meri Tuoksuu, Rannat Ovat T Ynn Rentoja, Hauskaa Pit Vi Ihmisi Mutta Kun Saaren Nimi On Sandhamn, Ei Kuolema Ole Koskaan KaukanaIloisen Joukon Keskell Nuori Tytt Lys Ht Yht Kki Huumattuna Hiekalle, Ja Aamulla Rannalta L Ytyy Ruumis Perheisiin Iskee Kauhea Huoli Aikuiset Alkavat Tajuta, Ett Nuorilla On Salainen El M , Josta He Eiv T Tied Mit N Juristi Nora Linde Viett Saaressa Ensimm Ist Juhannustaan Uuden Rakkaansa Jonaksen Kanssa Pian Katoaa Jonaksen Tyt R Wilma, Ja Alkaa Kuumeinen Etsint On Aika Kutsua Noran Yst V , Nackan Poliisin Thomas Andreasson Paikalle Saaren Kes Y H N
